Whats Dobby?
- If you didn’t know, every year, around 450 million containers move through ports. Each involves 7+ old school companies coordinating across emails, texts, Excel files, PDFs, and old legacy systems.
- Imagine if there was an AI tool that reads across the emails, databases and files of all these entities and organize all shipment data for easier collaboration. That’s Dobby.
Who are we?
- We are a team of 3 and are starting to grow. Founders are two long term friends based in NYC:
- Francesco (linkedin) was an engineer at Dropbox for 7 years and spent 2 years as a staff engineer at Meta.
- Taylan (linkedin) led product in companies like Dropbox, Samba TV and DocSend. Before tech, he was an industrial engineer with focus on supply chain problems.
- We’re builders in our core. We love creating technology that people love. Just as much, we love collaborating with brilliant minds to solve hard problems.

What do we believe in?
- Supply chain economy—worth trillions and is run by 20% of the global workforce— is run by a ton of people constantly coordinating with each other through very outdated systems, and it is one of the areas that is being reshaped by AI the most.
- Building tools for traditional domains is tough, requires deep user understanding, detailed UX that is powered by strong tech. Which requires a solid team.
Who are we looking for?
- An A+ engineer; Someone who can prototype fast, put it in front of users, learn, iterate.
- A smart generalist; Interested to constantly learn new technologies, try latest AI models, come up with creative solutions.
- A hard-worker / low-ego; We take work seriously, but not ourselves.
- An owner + learner; Today you’ll be building tech, tomorrow it might be leading a team. We’ll face new challenges and grow together.
- Bonus points if:
- You are experienced in AI applications, emailing tools, transcript analysis.
- Worked on user facing applications, released and fucked things up, then fixed later.
- Helped build a roadmap.
- Live in NYC (we’re open to remote).
- Play an instrument.
